On March 13, 2013, the day Pope Francis first stepped onto the balcony at the Vatican and greeted the world, I was overcome with an uneasy feeling in my soul. I was standing in the living room, facing my TV, and I saw Pope Francis enter the balcony and look out into the massive crowds below. When I looked into his eyes something stirred within me that I have never been able to forget. Up until now I have shared this experience with only a handful of people because I never felt comfortable admitting something that even I could not at the time understand. But now I feel that I can and should no longer keep it to myself. After having spoken with a few priests and prayed to the Holy Spirit for discernment, I have decided that I need to share with you not only what happened on March 13, 2013, but also some insights about what the Blessed Mother, through her apparitions at both Fatima and Akita, had warned us would one day come upon the Church.
Our Lady of Akita and Our Lady of Fatima
First, Akita: In 1973, Our Lady appeared to Sister Agnes Katsuko Sasagawa and told her: “The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops.” If you are not already familiar with Our Lady of Akita, please be sure to watch this video that I posted several months ago.
And then there is Fatima: In 1917, decades before Our Lady of Akita, the Blessed Mother appeared to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal, warning them of events that would one day take place if the world does not repent and turn back to God. One of those events that she spoke of involved a terrible crisis in the Catholic Church, and the remainder of this post addresses that crisis. If you are not already familiar with Our Lady of Fatima, please search through this blog for posts about it, as I’ve written several throughout the years. This is one of the most recent ones: The Miracle of the Sun
I think there is a tendency for people to want to believe that everything is fine, remaining blissfully unaware of what is taking place all around them. And in some cases I think there are people who for some reason tell themselves that Our Lady’s prophetic messages have to do with an era of time that is several hundreds, if not thousands of years away, so the events she warns about do not directly affect them. Hopefully you will watch the video I shared at the bottom of this post. Also, below are word for word passages I took from the priest in the video to give you an idea of what it is about:
Remember that an essential aspect of the message of Fatima is to pray for the conversion of poor sinners and to pray for the Holy Father. Given the extraordinary crisis that is at present afflicting the Church and the papacy itself, this prayer and sacrifice for the Holy Father, called for by the Holy Mother of God at Fatima, is now in 2017 prayer and sacrifice for the conversion of Pope Francis.
Today we have a terrible crisis in the papacy. Pope Francis, by his refusal to answer the five dubia presented to him by Cardinals Brandmüller, Burke, Caffarra, and Meisner, is on the brink of formal heresy. It is shocking and tragic to witness what is currently taking place at the highest levels of the Church. Yet Our Lady warned us of this exactly one hundred years ago at Fatima. Pope Francis is being asked formerly whether or not absolute moral norms that prohibit intrinsically evil acts are binding without exceptions, and he refuses to answer.
Pope Francis refuses to uphold Catholic Church teaching in the face of widespread dissent and confusion, and in the process he is desecrating both the most Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist and the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. But remember, our main task in this regard is to pray and sacrifice for the conversion of Pope Francis.
Today we find two extremes: On the one hand, there are millions and millions of Catholics who think that everything is fine, and who are either unable or refuse to recognize the terrible crisis that is afflicting the papacy. It is very possible that there is a heretic sitting on the Chair of Peter, and Catholics, even priests and bishops, are content to do and say nothing.
On the other hand there is another extreme: There are those who take seriously the crisis which is afflicting the Church and the papacy, but they fall into despair, frustration, anger, and bitterness, and they lose faith and trust in the infallible promises of Christ. There are those who reject Jorge Bergoglio as Pope, reject all the post-conciliar Popes, and end up denying that the visible society of the Roman Catholic Church is indeed the only Church founded by Jesus Christ.
Having said all this, it is not up to us to resolve this terrible crisis which afflicts the papacy at present. Only God, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, will provide the solution. We must pray and sacrifice for the Holy Father. We must pray and sacrifice for the conversion of Jorge Bergoglio. We must pray for the Holy Father to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. On this front, too, it is obvious that the papacy and obedience to rightful authority is in crisis.
All of the Popes since 1929, beginning with Pope Pius XI, have disobeyed the command of Heaven to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, thus widespread disobedience beginning at the highest levels of the Church.
